Why Treescape Academy Was Built
Our Story
When SS 724 was first published, we knew this was a defining moment for Singapore’s landscape industry. A national standard for tree pruning meant consistency, safety, and professionalism — but only if people actually knew about it and understood how to apply it.
The reality?
The standard was brand new. Almost nobody in the industry had heard of it, let alone understood what it meant for their daily work.
We asked ourselves: What comes first — the standard, or the understanding of it?
We Started with “WHY”
Before we designed a single module, our entire team came together for hours of deep brainstorming. We didn’t start with “how to teach SS 724.” We started with a bigger question:
Why does this standard matter — and who needs to know about it first?
That question shaped everything we built.
Who We Built It For
Most people assume that when a new standard is launched, managers and supervisors should be the first to learn it.
We disagree.
The frontline operators — the crews with years of hands‑on pruning experience — are the first touchpoint with every tree. They are the ones making the cuts, handling the equipment, and putting safety into practice every single day.
